Luddy lives with his grandmother, who is elderly and the sole caregiver and breadwinner for the household after she was widowed. Luddy’s parents are separated and could not care for him.

There are 10 people in Luddy’s household, including other children his grandmother cares for. The family lives in a three-room mud house with an iron sheet roof and earth floor, and rely on seasonal casual labour to survive.

Luddy is now enrolled at Noah’s Ark, to give him a chance to have an education. Without support, he will likely drop out as school fees are unaffordable for his family.
