Amir is the second-born in a family of three children. He lives with his father and stepmother in their family home. His father did not complete education, so he does casual jobs to support the family and they struggle to afford basics such as food and clothing.

Amir is in Grade 6 at primary school and aspires to be a teacher when he is older, motivated by the desire to help other children learn and succeed in school. In his spare time he enjoys playing football with his friends.

Due to the family’s lack of income, Amir is at risk of dropping out of school and remaining in poverty – you could change that.
